A New Way To Play!

Happy Holiday Backers,

Direct from Richard Garfield to you all, a new way to play Half-Truth during the holiday season. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping make this game a reality.

Cooperative Half-Truth

For Players 1+ (though probably best for 2-3)

Your team is playing Half Truth against the AI, Nostaw. Choose a color for your team and for Nostaw, and place the two score tokens at the start of the first round track as if you were beginning a 2 player game.

Moving Arjee: Nostaw advances 2 each turn, regardless of the die roll.

Bonus Answers: Choose an unused color to mark Bonus Answers. When revealing a question, if no answer is designated as a Bonus Answer, select a random bonus answer chip and put it on the corresponding answer. That is the Bonus Answer. If your team successfully answers a question, and one of your answers is the Bonus Answer, remove it and draw a bonus card. If you do not get the bonus answer (and, of course, for any particular question it may be impossible), then it will remain in place.

Bonus Cards: (Print 2 sheets of cards, for an 18 card deck). Unless otherwise noted, all bonus cards are saved and can be played after rolling the die and seeing the question, but before answering the question. Reshuffle the discards to make a new deck if needed.

Scoring: After three rounds, if your team has more victory points than Nostaw, you Win!

Further glory is available as follows:

Alternate Nostaw Movement: (Based on a suggestion by William Campbell)

Instead of moving Nostaw 2 each turn, reveal 2 random answers from an unused color. For each correct answer, Nostaw moves 2. Nostaw is not penalized for an incorrect answer (other than not moving 2).

Minor Clarification: Nostaw can never move backwards via the Slow Down Nostaw card.

Big News on the Signed Games!

Hello Half Truth Backers,

Exciting news coming out of Seattle this week, as Ken and Richard got together, outside, and signed some games!

We promise that’s Ken Jennings and Richard Garfield behind those masks.

Now that the games are signed, we need to get the games from Seattle, Washington to Rancho Cucamonga, California so our fulfillment center can get games out to our backers. We asked Ken if he could just ship all the games out himself, but he said he was going to be busy filming some quiz show or something.

Timing is going to be tight, but we’re hoping to postmark these games by December 18, meaning most of our backers will have one extra box to open this holiday season. Thank you all very much for your patience and understanding in these uncertain times!

The Games Are Getting Signed!

Hello fellow backers!

First, we apologize for the delay in updates. We hope you’ve been safe and sane over the past couple months.

At this time, we’ve successfully shipped out 8614 pledges to people all over the world. This includes sending out unsigned copies of the game to our Backers at the signed tiers. We hope you have been enjoying the game so far!

National Champs and Quizmasters

For the 68 of you that backed at the National Champ level, we have great news!

Richard Garfield and Ken Jennings will be getting together in November to get those games signed so we can get those shipped out and in your hands for the holidays.

For the 3 amazing Quizmasters, you should be receiving an email this week with further information about the next steps.

First and foremost, we hope that everyone and their families are safe during these difficult and uncertain times. We thank you for your support of Half Truth and are excited that most of you have received or are soon to receive your copies of the game.

Please note that we are closely monitoring the global situation and our fulfillment centers are following the strictness guidelines to ensure that we are safely handling your orders. Given the special circumstances around social distancing, there is a delay with the signature games but we shipped everyone standard games as we did not want to hold up your deliveries. We are working to figure out a solution to satisfy that reward tier.

Now that we are in March, we wanted to give you an update on shipping. Good news! We have started the fulfillment process for Half Truth and games have already begun shipping this week! Thank you for your patience and support and we know when you to see the final product you will believe it was worth the wait. There have been some challenges as a result of unexpected worldwide shipping concerns around COVID-19 but our team is hard at work and we believe the impact will be minimal but may delay some shipments. As there are many components to the shipments, please note that items will ship throughout the month and we believe almost everyone will be fulfilled in the coming weeks.
